Happy 2026 everybody. Just writing a quick update on site development, and also wanted to mention I’ve completed another wiki article on paint! This one took way longer than I thought it would, and had me reading through 100 page trade journal PDFs about various additives, art restoration blogs, etc. I tell people “I do this so that others don’t have to,” but honestly I find it quite interesting and thus not much of a burden. Win-win!

Basically I got nothing done over the holidays except relaxing with my family, which was much needed, but I’m back and fully restored. My main focus at the moment is on developing the products section, which is going pretty well and should be ready to take out of “coming soon” mode imminently. I have a decent lineup of products I’m excited to show you guys; unfortunately I missed the chance to put out Christmas shopping guides so perhaps these will be just in time for Valentine’s day or something.

Writing the wiki in parallel with the products section is going to be a big force multiplier, because researching the state of the market in all the different product categories naturally brings me into contact with the zero-plastic options that currently exist. I stand by my earlier estimate that ~95% of plastic exposure is probably already avoidable with an upper middle class income in the US; I believe it’s incumbent on those of us who are paying attention to bring this cost down even further! In this new year, it’s important not to lose sight of the goal, and stay positive through the dark months. Progress is possible!
